Helical element, cross-bar and LPD vane — each series optimised for a specific operating regime.
Kenics-equivalent design. Each element is a 180° helical twist of a flat plate, spanning the full pipe bore. Successive elements are joined at 90° to the previous, alternating right-hand (RH) and left-hand (LH) rotation. The leading edge of each element bisects the trailing edge of the previous, splitting the fluid radially and rotating it 180° before the next split. This geometric progression halves the striation thickness with every element. Effective across the complete Reynolds Number range from deep laminar (Re < 10) to fully turbulent (Re > 10,000).

Laminar: ΔP=N×4.0×(32μVD⁻¹). Always verify Re=ρVD/μ first.
Sulzer SMX-equivalent design. Each element is a corrugated metal lattice of bars arranged at ±45° to the pipe axis, with successive layers crossing each other to form an open three-dimensional grid. Fluid is repeatedly split, cross-mixed and recombined at every bar intersection. Because every crossing is a new split-and-recombine event, the number of striations grows as 2N (where N is element count), giving extremely rapid homogenisation at high viscosity ratios. Limited to deep laminar service (Re < 500); pressure drop is approximately 38× the equivalent Hagen-Poiseuille loss per element length.

Ross LPD-equivalent design. Each stage carries one right-hand (RH) semi-circular vane and one left-hand (LH) semi-circular vane mounted on a central stiffener rod that runs the full mixer length. The two vanes span the pipe bore and deflect fluid into counter-rotating swirl zones. Successive stages are offset 90° to re-orient the swirl pattern, stripping the boundary layer and redistributing fluid radially. The open geometry (no transverse obstructions) passes slurries, fibrous media and two-phase flows without clogging. At K=0.7 per stage the VN is the lowest pressure-drop mixer in the Primetech range, delivering CoV ≤0.05 in six stages for Re > 10,000.
