Dilution of high-salinity Reverse Osmosis (RO) concentrate with seawater before marine discharge. Regulatory salinity limits at the diffuser require guaranteed well-mixed concentration profiles.

Mixing Criteria

Coefficient of Variation (CoV) ≤0.05 at diffuser entry. Large bore (DN600–DN1200) requires VN open geometry. Minimum 6 vane stages for adequate mixing at low pressure drop. Salinity CoV must be maintained across seasonal variation in Reverse Osmosis (RO) recovery.

Material & Special Requirements

Preferred MOC: GRP (glass-reinforced polyester or epoxy) standard for continuous seawater immersion. Sacrificial zinc anodes on metallic flanges if required. Anti-fouling interior coating for marine growth.

Anti-fouling coating inside mixer for continuous seawater immersion. Minimum 6 VN stages. GRP mixer may require structural fibre reinforcement for large bore. Mixer must withstand full shut-in pressure of concentrate system.
