Mixing Criteria

Coefficient of Variation (CoV) ≤0.05 at inline concentration analyser. Wide turndown (10:1) for seasonal irrigation demand variation. pH control critical for nutrient stability (phosphate precipitation at wrong pH).

Typical Viscosity
0.8–5 cP (centipoise) (fertiliser solutions)
Reynolds Number (Re)
Reynolds Number (Re) 2,000–100,000 (turbulent)

Material & Special Requirements

Preferred MOC: FRP or HDPE mandatory for most fertiliser solutions. 316SS acceptable for urea. Carbon steel must not contact ammonium nitrate (oxidiser classification). PVDF or FRP injection quill.

Ammonium nitrate: classified oxidiser — no ferrous metal contact, no dead legs, anti-static earthing. Phosphate solutions: pH monitoring to prevent calcium phosphate precipitation. Wide turndown in irrigation systems must maintain uniform dosing.

Recommended Mixer
KE Series — Helical Element
Kenics-equivalent. 180° RH/LH helical elements joined at 90°. Halves striation thickness per element. Works laminar to turbulent. Best general-purpose choice.
