Mixing Criteria

Blend Coefficient of Variation (CoV) ≤0.05 at density/refractive index analyser (minimum 5D downstream). Pressure Drop (ΔP) budget <0.1 barg for low-viscosity solvent service. Static charge generation at velocity >3 m/s in non-conductive materials — limit velocity.

Typical Viscosity
0.3–20 cP (centipoise) (solvents)
Reynolds Number (Re)
Reynolds Number (Re) 5,000–500,000 (turbulent)

Material & Special Requirements

Preferred MOC: 316SS standard for most solvents. FRP for chlorinated solvents (dichloromethane, TCE). Hastelloy C-276 for highly aggressive halogenated solvents. Earthing connections mandatory.

ATEX Zone 1: ATEX-certified housing, bonding and earthing connections on all flanges. Flash point of blend must be respected — no local hot spots. Inline density analyser 5D downstream.

Recommended Mixer
KE Series — Helical Element
Kenics-equivalent. 180° RH/LH helical elements joined at 90°. Halves striation thickness per element. Works laminar to turbulent. Best general-purpose choice.
