Mixing Criteria

Blend Coefficient of Variation (CoV) ≤0.05 at inline analyser. Analyser located minimum 5D downstream. Pressure Drop (ΔP) budget typically <0.1 barg for pipeline installation. Mixer must maintain blend quality across full throughput range.

Typical Viscosity
0.5–10 cSt (centistokes) (petroleum products)
Reynolds Number (Re)
Reynolds Number (Re) 5,000–500,000 (turbulent)

Material & Special Requirements

Preferred MOC: Carbon steel for petroleum service. ATEX-rated housing with bonding/earthing connections. Duplex or 316SS for ethanol-rich blends with water content.

ATEX Zone 1 mandatory — ATEX-certified equipment and full documentation. Electrostatic earthing connections on all flanges. Inline blend analyser 5D downstream. No dead legs that could accumulate off-spec material.

Recommended Mixer
VN Series — LPD Vane Mixer (Ross type)
Large bore turbulent service. LPD vane swirl mixing with lowest pressure drop. Handles slurries and two-phase flow.
